Plastic Bubble

10 Nov

Runway designers tend (or try) to reflect the cultural, social and lifestyle changes that the current generations experience so it’s no wonder why the Spring/Summer 13 collections showcase a tremendous amount of Futuristic trends.

However, the most interesting and incredible span on this trend is the Plastic WRAP trend that I could spot at various shows. Where does its inspiration come from? Online frenzy? Credit cards and digital lifestyles? Here are some examples:

Finding inspiration

10 Nov

I first decided to start writing a blog when I turned 30 this year. Being such a milestone for me and such, I figured it was the right moment to show myself to the world and share my inner thoughts. But what to write about???? There are thousands blogs out there, about ANY topic so how would my blog be any different? Finally I decided to put in the mix a few topics I really enjoy at the moment, like fashion, lifestyle, brands and business, as well as photography and culture. Hopefully it will be a nice mix that people will enjoy reading, although, who knows… maybe in time I will figure out the exact line I want to follow.

For now, thank you to those reading and liking my posts!! I would love to know what you would like to read about 🙂

True friendships die hard

7 Nov

My friend Ionela and I go way back… We’ve known each other since kindergarden and I distinctly remember her as my pillar and one of my very best friends through thick and thin. She was always there for me when I needed her and we shared a lot of things together: first loves, birthday parties, common friends, schools and other less pleasant experiences that only brought us closer together.

But when I left home to move to Madrid we obviously parted ways, although we always kept in touch and saw each other every once in a while when we got the chance to visit each other. Later on, we both got married and she now has a precious little boy that I absolutely adore.

The thing is that last night we had a conversation that changed my perception of who I thought I had been in the past and I suddenly realized that I was getting to know myself  through her eyes… What a wonderful experience it was! How many things I learned about myself that I didn’t even know where there…

Did you ever get the chance to have a friend tell you how they saw you? You will never need a soul mirror again, because a friend is the deepest expression of self that can be. Try it. You might find interesting things about that someone you call “yourself”.

And since this post is dedicated to my friend, here is a nice picture of us together this past summer when I went home for holidays. I can’t wait to have this picture taken again of us in 20 years from now…

Enjoy!
